The WRSI Current Helmet is the result of the Whitewater Research and Safety Institute's mission to promote whitewater recreation safety and save lives by disseminating knowledge and improving equipment.
They've achieved that with the WRSI Current Helmet. Designed to dissipate energy from multiple major impacts, this helmet will provide you with far better protection than most of the composite helmets on the market. Designed for use up to Grade V - nothing can guarantee your safety when you paddle the big runs but this is as close as you're going to get.
Suitable for serious white water as well as being comfortable enough for Grade II racing and surf.
Most people in NZ will probably find that the vented WRSI Current Helmet keeps their head at a good temperature, but if you tend to get cold or do a lot of your paddling in winter you may find the unvented version more suitable.
