This book is very similar in concept to 'The Kayakshop' except the designs presented are more complex than the sheet plywood boat in The KayakShop. The three designs featured are built up from narrow strips of cedar. This form of construction gives a more rounded shape and also produces a very light boat. However the level of building skill required probably best suits someone with some carpentry experience, and some knowledge of 'lofting' from tables of offsets. The three designs featured in the book are very beautiful boats based on Inuit and Aleut skin boats.
