Sunday 12th February

Beginner / Intemediate trip depending on the conditions

Waihi Beah, situated beyond the northern end of Tauranga Harbour, is a beautiful place to explore with cliffs and hidden bays dotted along the coastline.

The plan is to paddle from Waihi Beach, round the northern headland past Shark Bay, track up along the coastline past the Orakawa Scenic Reserve and on to Boat Bay where we will rest a re-fuel before heading back.

This will be around a 15km paddle and you need to be confident and comfortable with some swell. The paddling level will be dependent on the weather/ wind / swell forecast for the day.

Low Tide: 05:05
High Tide: 11:26
Low Tide: 17:36

A good level of paddling fitness will be required for this trip as well as full sea kayaks (no sit-ons or recreational short sit-ins on this trip, sorry). Kayaks and equipment can be hired for the trip.
Bring your own food and drink.

Meet at the Northern end of Waihi Beach at 10am. We should have the wind and tide to help u on the way back. Off the water by 4pm latest.
