Kia Ora,

Come join in the adventure, what are you waiting for?

Whether you fancy becoming a white water kayaker or a sea kayaker or even a kayak fisherman, our club covers all aspects of paddling.

We have a mix of interests, ages and abilities and welcome anyone who wants to learn to kayak. We are spoilt by beautiful places to paddle and explore in the Bay, and further afield. We run a mix of trips every month which are generally free. Join the club and come share in the fun and memories.
We ensure your safety is paramount on the water and therefore require all members to complete a skills course before participating on any trips. Canoe & Kayak BOP run a variety of courses to whet your appetite and improve your kayaking skills.
If you want to have a go at kayaking before joining the club why not try one of our 1/2 day taster sessions and meet the Canoe & Kayak BOP team. We'll ensure you have a great time and will be hooked!
Don't have a kayak of your own then don't worry we have a range of kayaks for hire plus paddles, pfd's etc so you can still get out on the water.

Kayak-Fishing-Club.gif
This is social kayak fishing club that has been developed by the team here who fish in their free time. Although not an official club with Canoe and Kayak BOP we feel it should be mentioned. With updates on our facebook page as to when they are going out, it's your opportunity to join them and others kayak fishing. There's nothing like drifting slowly in the current and peacefully casting your line in the attempt to catch your dinner. When you do it's very exciting and the challenge soon begins, always with a bit of surprise to see what you have caught this time... snapper, kahawai, gurnard or even a shark! Join the fishing group and share your experiences. It's a great way to unwind and reward you at the same time. Canoe & Kayak are not responsible for you on the water. Please ensure you are wearing adequate clothing for the conditions, have a PFD and are of a good enough ability for the conditions before entering the water.
For those of you starting out then we recommend the 2 day Sea Kayak Skills course is for you before attending any trips. Your safety and enjoyment on the water are paramount.
