To join this absolutely awesome club & to meet these incredible people that we go paddling with all the time & to explore and see some of these incredible places that we explore and see, you need to do a course. Ask anyone, the courses are awesome, you won`t believe how much you will learn and your confidence will go from zero to way up high. Also you will become a much safer and wiser paddler too.

Purangi to Tarata Sea kayak or Multisport This Sunday 15th August
42 km paddle with lots of easy grade 2 rapids, river flow should be great for this Sunday giving you a good push allong, 7.45am at Tarata domain, possibly meet at the shop 7am for those wanting to car pool from NP  (: if you are keen for this paddle please let us know asp. depending on the size of the group the multisporters could possibly paddle on ahead and sort out shuttle while sea kayakers finish the paddle. Great practice for the Cambridge to Hamilton paddle. Call 06 7695506 or Barry Hosking 06 7628674 or email back for more info or to put your name down.

Mangaotaki grade 3 and Mokau grade3
-4(Walkable 4's) this Sat evening August 14th Sunday 15th
Looks like the levels will be great for that weekend for these rivers, the plan at this stage is to travel up Sat 5.30pmsh stay at Kevin's brother in law (I think) whos farm has the Mangaotaki going through it, staying in the woolshed which is quite flash apparrently. Early start paddle the Mangaotaki which we can get in right at the woolshed about 4km upstream from the main road get in. about 8am. Should be off the river about 11am to organise shuttle for Mokau and have early lunch. Probably a good idea to have hot drink with you and a change of thermals, Ideally have a change of warm gear after the Mangaotaki.
There may be some keen to just come up on Sunday for the Mokau river only,  which will make the shuttle for the Mokau a bit easier as we can pick up the car at the woolshed after the Mokau.
If we have wet weather around Friday and Saturday the track to the Woolshed is marginal when wet and the farmer is not so keen for us to go in there if it is.  At this stage it looks like a fair bit of rain on Friday afternoon clearing Saturday morning so if that is the case we will do a day trip for the Mokau river only.
Please let us know if you are keen to come. 06 7695506 or reply on email

Motu RiverLabour weekend3  days grade 3-4 ww
One of my favourite white water trips.
this trip will be not assisted with a raft at this stage so plan to carry everything in your kayak. It is also very remote so walking out would be near impossible.

Kawhia Harbour Trip  (Nov 13-14)

Organiser / leader: Mark Robbins

This will be a full 2-day trip to explore some hidden southern and
eastern bays and inlets of this large west coast harbour. Some of the
bays are bush-clad and not unlike Marlborough Sounds; others are
surrounded by towering limestone formations.
Trip rating is intermediate (kids are fine in a double with a stronger
paddler).

Rangiteiki 2 day paddle Nov 20-21
plastic sea kayak or long river kayak like dancer, Topo duo etc. Grade 2 rapids a slightly harder than the Wanganui river with a two grade 3-4 rapids that are easy to walk. If you are keen but feel you may need a bit of practice on river paddling we can arrange this for you. We plan to take  our kids on this one.
Get in below River Lodge down to Utuku. bridge.

Bay Of IslandsTaranaki Aniversary weekend 12th March to 19th 8 days.
Leader Bronnie v L

Been a while since we have been to the bay of Islands, Great one for all levels, a good level of paddle fitness will make it more enjoyable. There may be oportunity for the more adventurous to paddle south from Cape Brett along the more exposed rugged coast down to Whangamumu. 11 km to the nearest sheltered landing spot from Cape Brett when rough.

Stewart Island April 16th -26th Leader Peter v L

We may just have a small group of experienced paddlers for this one and weather permitting paddle around the Island.

Waitara to Mokau
weekend trip
We will slot this in when the weather suits.

We have four competitive teams and two social teams. And it’s worth a laugh a minute. Social teams are made up of beginners and whoever is there at the time. So if you are keen to come and see what it is all about and give it ago, just come along and join in with the social teams & see if you like it. Cost is $7.00 causal, $40.00 for the league. Bell Block Swimming Pool. Thursday evenings 7.15pm for the first game, . C U THERE! (At least it is not weather dependent)
