Waiheke Island

This is a trip to Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf over Waitangi weekend. On the Saturday we will paddle from Kawakawa Bay to the Rocky Bay campsite where we will be based. You will need all self-supporting camping gear, tent, food etc. See details of the campsite here: http://www.arc.govt.nz/parks/our-parks/parks-in-the-region/whakanewha/bookable-facilities.cfm?siteid=30

PLEASE NOTE: WE CAN NOT TAKE ANY MORE BOOKINGS FOR THIS TRIP AS THE CAMPGROUND IS NOW FULL

On the Sunday we will explore some of the island and coastline, and Monday return to Kawakawa Bay.

Costs: There is a $10 per night charge for the campsite - total for the 2 night trip: $20. Please book and pay by ringing up the ARC on 09 366 2000. There are limited camp sites available so we will need to get in as early as possible. You can check availability on the weblink above (click on "show availability calendar")

Bring some cash for coffees etc. We won't be paddling all the time!

Special considerations: As we will often be landing/launching at low tide, and Rocky Bay is VERY tidal, kayak trolleys are highly recommended.

Auckland Regional Council bylaws recommend high visibility from kayakers including flags and reflector strips on paddles. Tony is the trip leader.

Please phone us on 847-5565 to book on!
