This is a great paddle to finish off winter - fabulous paddling and swimming in natural hotpools! Meet Saturday 25 September at Tarawera Landing at 10am.
The plan is to paddle along the shore line to Hot Water beach which is approximately 15km. This will just be a cruise with a bit of exploring, then camp at the Hot Water Beach Campsite. For more information about the campsite:

On Sunday 22/8/10 return to Tarawera Landing following the South Eastern shoreline, approx 15kms.
Total distance over weekend: approx 30kms
Ability Level: Will suit beginner paddlers, but do need to be able to paddle the distances indicated.
Weather Parameters: Trip will be postponed if the forecast is for wind over 15 knots and/or rain.
Time off the water: No later than 3pm both days.
What to bring: Usual paddling/safety rescue gear etc. including spare dry clothes in a dry bag. Full camping kit including water. Extra warm clothes e.g. warm jacket, beanie, gloves, longjohns, warm socks and footware. Togs and booties (sand can be very hot when swimming). $10 for camping fees.
Car Parking: Parking available at the Landing in front of the restaurant. Please take the restaurant patrons into consideration when you park and try to leave close to the restaurant.
