Waikato River Discovery - 2 Hour Guided Kayak Trip

One of Taupo's best kept secrets... The sheer beauty and tranquility found just minutes from the centre of town on the crystal clear waters of the mighty Waikato River. Your trip begins at our Taupo store where we have changing rooms and secure storage for your valuables. After we transport you the short distance to the river your guide will give you a safety brief and you will begin your voyage which will see you finish at Reid's Farm just 900 metres from the awe inspiring Huka Falls!

Along the way you will pass by Cherry Island where you may see Trout swimming below, a little further and you will drift by the drop zone of Taupo Bungy, hopefully we will see some jumpers! The next stop sees us at a Natural Thermal Hot Spring where we will stop for a soak in waters that can reach 43 Degrees, a true delight even in the coldest winter months! This is a great family activity, perfect for tourists and an awesome activity for team building or timeout from that hectic conference schedule.

Maori Carvings Tour - 4 hour guided kayak trip

$85 per person

This tour is best way to reach the impressive Maori Carvings at Whakamoenga Point, as it is only accessible by boat and a must-see when you visit Taupo.  We kayak from Jerusalem Bay to the carvings and back while taking in the stunning views across the lake towards Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Ruapehu.  There is plenty of time to view the awesome Maori Carvings, take some photos, have a swim and learn about the history and cultural significance of the carvings! The main carving is over 10 metres tall and the smaller carvings are fasinating to view up close.

This is a 4 hour return journey in sea kayaks... no experience necessary - bookings essential!
