Waimakariri Familiarisation Trips 2012

Robin Judkins recommends it and so do we!! The Waimakariri is no push over and is well worth treating with respect.

It is essential that all first time Coast to Coasters get some paddling time on the Waimak prior to race day - it takes the jitters away and makes the whole experience on race day fun-filled rather than fear-filled.

So why not come with us for some great paddling and build that confidence up some more.

We meet in Christchurch and head off to do a leisurely paddle down the Waimakariri. During the trip we will work on all aspects of paddling skills along with river reading and the running of the notorious rapids giving you the confidence and know how on race day.

Two trips are recommended for the average new multisporter - this will allow you a greater degree of familiarity for race day.

We supply transport to and from the river, Sea Kayak, paddle and deck. Customers supply PFD, helmet, paddling clothes, throw rope, spare clothing, first aid kit, survival bag and food.

Cost: $399 per person per day

You will be guided by senior Canoe & Kayak Instructors on a one to four ratio of instructors to clients.

Cancellation details:
There are no refunds or credits given for cancellation due to weather. We will try our hardest to re-schedule
Failure to attend or cancellation within two weeks of booked date will incur a loss of all fees.
