2012 Grade 2 Training Package

3 Weekends - Multisport Kayaking Instruction

 ONLY $1150

This comprehensive kayaking course is based over 3 weekends and is designed to progressively build your kayaking skills to enable you to gain your Grade Two Racing Certificate.

Weekend One: We start with confidence routines and wet exits in the pool and then progress to the mighty Waikato River for an introduction into white water kayaking.  We focus on basic strokes, paddling technique, water confidence, river reading and rescue skills. All kayaking equipment is included. Day 1 is in river kayaks and day 2 in sea kayaks.

  

Weekend Two: We spend all weekend on the river, encouraging you to push your boundaries, increase your knowledge and develop your skills in white water.  Here you will run your first grade two river and continue to build your confidence and skills. All kayaking equipment is included.

  

Weekend Three: Practise, practise, practise... and assessment! We focus on fine tuning your river running skills and prepping you for your Grade 2 certificate assessment.  By now it is wise to have all of your own gear so that you can practice using it for your assessment, however hire options are available.
