The Bay of Plenty has some of the best kayaking in the world. With beautiful rivers, lakes and coastline we are spoilt for choice.
The area offers fantastic opportunities for recreational kayaking, sea kayaking, white water & surf kayaking, kayak hunting & fishing and multisport. We are independently owned and operated and our team at Canoe and Kayak BOP are passionate about all types of kayaking and are here to help and advise you.
We have the best selection of kayaks and equipment in the Bay and are renowned for our Courses and Kayak Tours, which local, national and international visitors continue to enjoy.

At Canoe & Kayak BOP we offer everything you need to get you on the water. Our kayaking courses are one of the best ways to get started.
We offer half day Taster Sessions which will gently introduce you to the basics of kayaking. For a more comprehensive course try one of our 2 day courses in Sea Kayaking to gain more confidence and skills.

Why not join our Kayak Club to get out on the water in the company and safety of other paddlers. If you don't have a kayak then don't worry, we have a selection of kayaks and gear for hire, suitable for white water, sea kayaking, fishing and recreational use.

Whitewater Kayaking Courses are now available at Canoe & Kayak BOP. With whitewater courses for beginners we can introduce you to the excitement and skills involved in whitewater kayaking.
For those already kayaking we offer Kayak Rolling Courses in an indoor heated pool and Successful Kayak Surfing courses to learn how to keep your belongings and dignity intact in the surf! For more details and to book call 07 5747415. |

See us in a short interview with TV3 News regarding the lack of effect the Rena Incident has had on Canoe & Kayak BOP and how we are positive for this summer.
Rena Update:
Most of the beaches are now open, with the exception of Harrisons Cut car park every now and then in order to remove containers. Life seems back to normal, people are enjoying the beach and the water and the surf has been good lately. The kayak fishing has been very good with no evidence of any fish we have caught affected by the oil. Get back out there and enjoy the Bay of Plenty!
