Winter Kayaking Course
Starting Sunday 13th June and running through into September.
This course is for any Club Member who wishes to develop their skills across a broad spectrum of kayaking disciplines, including: Sea Kayaking, River Kayaking, Surf Kayaking, and Eskimo Rolling. It will cover the personal skills and knowledge required to be a competent paddler in a varied range of conditions.
It will be run over six pool sessions each Monday and six theory sessions.
There will be three Sunday courses and three weekend courses and a River development course on the 15th and 16th of July in Taupo
The dates:
SUN 13th June - day paddle (location to be advised) - meet at Manukau shop at 8amMON 14th June - 1st pool / theory session (meet 5.45pm at Pool) Weekly theory / pool sessions each Monday for further 5 weeks SAT 26/27th June - Northland weekend trip SUN 11th July - day paddle (location to be advised) THU 15/16th July - river development course - Taupo SAT 24/25th July - weekend trip away SUN 8th August - day paddle (location to be advised) SAT 28/29th August - weekend trip
The cost of this course is $1799.00 to non members. Existing club members $499 and for existing leaders acting as assistants there will be no charge.
NZKI Assessments will be awarded to the participants to the level they attain.
Hire equipment, food, transport and accommodation is not included in the cost.
